Well January was (is) a lot.
Between horrifying wildfires, and maddening politics, it just feels like we could all use a “win” at the moment. Thankfully the New Moon In Aquarius wants to bring us this win, or at the very least, get the energies flowing in those winning directions.
Gracing us on January 29, 2025, the Aquarius new Moon brings a refreshing wave of energy that invites us to open ourselves to the potential of more positive possibilities and to embrace our willingness to receive what we desire.
The Aquarius new Moon first asks us if we actually believe life can get better and better, and if we do believe, this lunation then encourages us to double down on that belief regardless of the externalities.

Out of the Box Aquarius
As the fixed Air sign, Aquarius energy is the visionary of the zodiac, and is known for their innovative, and often out of the box expressions. Progressive, intellectual, community oriented and deeply rooted in the desire to make the world a better place, Aquarius energy is well-known for their “power to the people” perception.
However, like all signs, Aquarius has both light and shadow expressions.
In the light, Aquarius inspires us to think curiously, creatively and critically. Aquarius also encourages us to embrace our individuality, and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued. This energy helps us break free from outdated systems and envision a future that’s innovative and equitable. Aquarius is the archetype that reminds us we’re all human.
Aquarian energy also excels at creative problem-solving. This lunation encourages us to approach challenges with curiosity and optimism. Instead of dwelling on problems, look for innovative solutions. Aquarius thrives on out-of-the-box thinking, so don’t be afraid to explore unconventional ideas.
In its shadow expression, Aquarius can become detached, overly intellectual, and resistant to emotional vulnerability. There might be a huge focus on the collective as a way to avoid, or bypass, looking at one’s self. It’s also important to note that Aquarius energy can also veer into rebellion for rebellion’s sake, creating chaos instead of constructive change.
With the Moon, Sun, Mercury and Pluto in Aquarius during this new Moon, beware the urge to feed all the chaos around, choosing instead to focus on finding more receptivity within.
open to Something Good
This new Moon carries an air of hopeful expectancy, which I know may feel weird and unrealistic when considering what’s playing out in reality. Yet despite all that is obviously not working well at the moment, this lunation comes in with a beautiful reminder that something wonderful can happen at any time, and that our “wins” are all around us, just waiting for us to open to receive them.
When I felt in intuitively to the energies of this lunation I was brought immediately to both the front and back sides of my Heart chakra, feeling that vortex open to both receive and give more. There was a focus on the pleasurable sensation that comes not just from getting, but from giving as well. Which is a wonderful thing because there are so many people who are in need right now, and there are so many reasons to give, if we are lucky enough to be able to.

For many of us, giving to others in meaningful ways creates an energizing impact in our bodies, fueling us, as opposing to draining our energy. Yet like so many things in life, balance and moderation are needed, so that we don’t end up over-giving.
Energetically, over-giving happens when we bypass our need to receive and maintain energy within ourselves, instead giving our energy away to others. This leaves us feeling drained, irritable, unreciprocated and often resentful as well. So it’s important to remember, especially for those of us who do “get off” on giving, that we must learn to give energy to ourselves first and foremost.
How do we give energy to ourselves? Well this can look like so many different things because we are all so unique and diverse which is amazing! And how wonderful to know that there are infinite ways to energize ourselves!
Here are some of my favorite ways to open myself to receive energy:
Nature nature nature. Really getting present with Nature, opening myself to the beauty, function and interconnection all around and allowing my energy to suck up loving Energy from Mother Earth like I’m a sponge.
Swimming and time in water, floating in particular.
Gardening and making plant art. There is something about putting my hands in soil and thinking about interconnection within the root systems that just makes me feel so open and receptive.
Watching Sunrise or Sunset.
Energy practices like reiki and meridian and chakra maintenance.
Body care practices like movement, massage, acupuncture and adjustments.
Thinking about the beautiful and transformative things my friends and colleagues are creating and sharing in this world. And what I am creating and sharing as well!
So ask yourself, what gives you energy?
This Aquarius new Moon is a moment to gain clarity on what truly energizes us, and to stay open to opportunities that align with our higher purpose.
This lunation also asks you to really consider, what good you are ready to receive.
And then let yourself be brave enough to actually receive it!

This New Moon is a potent time to focus on the communities we’re part of and consider how we can contribute to collective well-being.
Whether it’s a close-knit circle of friends or a broader network, this lunation may have us asking ourselves how we can foster more connection and collaboration.
Consider how you can contribute your unique gifts to uplift others or collaborate on a shared vision. This is a time to examine your role within your community and how you can foster inclusivity, innovation, and cooperation. Whether joining forces with like-minded individuals or initiating projects that align with your values, Aquarius energy inspires us to think globally and act locally.
The New Moon also nudges us to explore new ways of building relationships, utilizing technology or unconventional methods to connect and engage. It's about focusing on solutions that not only benefit us but also enhance the greater good.
As we set our intentions for this Aquarius new Moon, it would benefit us to to think about how our actions ripple out into the collective and how small changes can lead to meaningful progress.

This new moon is a beautiful time for new ideas and opportunities. The New Moon forms a harmonious trine with Jupiter, which is an energy that attracts optimism and good fortune. Jupiter is known as the great benefic, bringing generosity wherever it goes. As it connects with this new Moon, it brings new opportunities that could offer new beginnings towards collectivism and understanding our individual roles in society. Both are in air signs, which supports our intellectualism, making it a prime time for offering new ideas.
Mercury also forms a conjunct with Pluto in Aquarius, doubling down on this concept of new ideas.
